Thank you for writing this. I had a horrible experience in Munich, Dachau when I was 20, in 1980. An American political science student from the midwest said I should only see beer gardens, not go to that place. But he was on the train to the camp and followed me around. Coming out from where the ovens were he said, "They say NEVER AGAIN. Of course, it will happen again. People want it to happen again." He was determined to be a political leader when he got older. I remembered that day thinking, if it was 40 years in the past, or 40 years in the future this guy would shoot me against the wall and stuff my body into an oven. James Stanley's book on Fascism and Propaganda, and Timothy Snyder's On Tyranny are important to counter balance this rising hatred.
Thank you for reading my post/experience and commenting. I am so sorry to hear of your horrible experience. I'm sometimes still taken aback and astounded by the cavalier hate that continues to exist and thrive in this world, which is why I believe so strongly in ALWAYS speaking out. It keeps those voices at bay and, I believe, provides balance. Thank you for recommending those two books. I will most definitely check them out. You might also like this more recent post/commentary/essay I wrote here on Substack, "White Replacement Theory and Rising U.S. Violence," https://sharilopatin.substack.com/p/white-replacement-theory-rising-us-violence. Let me know if you end up reading it.
I will click on. Soon. Reading your comment back made me think about a 60 Minutes story, or maybe it was a CBS Sunday Morning piece. The KKK racists that bullied and killed so many blacks mercilessly. I believe justice connected the dots and gave their properties to the mother(s) of their victims. I'm not sure the details. But it shut them up for decades. Hopefully like the Capitol Police being given Mar Lago. Ok. I'll click on it now.

Mark Finchem, a Republican candidate for secretary of state, is a QAnon follower. Trump endorsed him.
(Sigh). And there's Marjorie Taylor Greene, and all of the others like her ...
